Default 02 Accord F23A4

I went to TAS AUTO (GREAT store BTW) and purchased several things. Among them was the VTec Valve Cover Gasket Set.

I'm having trouble with the spark plug tube seals. I tried popping them off with a needle nose, but 2 of them ripped and the spring came out of the seal. I haven't removed the other seals for fear of the same happening with them. I also tried to pry them off with a small screwdriver but that didn't work either. I don't wanna chip off some metal shavings by prying too hard. Am I just trippin? or is there a trick to getting them off?
Can anybody explain how to do this seemingly simple task?
I appreciate anyone's feedback.
