Default integra srs unit

My horn wasnt working and i got the car like that and today I went to get an alarm installed and I asked if they could look at the horn and they take a look and say that its the srs unit interuppting it.
And the srs light is on. The previous owner said it has a rebuilt title but didint know the reason. What could be wrong? Does it just have to be reset or would I have to get a whole new srs unit or something?

You can set up your own wiring for the horn.
Lots of people w/ aftermarket steering wheels do it. I don't see why you can't, assuming you have an oem one.

Just find a way to connect that metal pin to hit your horn button.

The horn is not working because, "the srs unit interuppting it" ????

Did that installer say how the SRS unit was intrupting the horn?

The first thing I would do is pull the airbag assembly off the steering wheel and make sure it is plugged in, disconnect batt. before doing this.

While apart you can also check the horn wiring and do some testing.

The SRS system is a completely diff. circuit then the cars horn circuit, in fact the SRS system is pretty much independent of any other circuit in the car, it is unlikely it has anything to do with the horns problem.

What is the year and model, [trim level] of the Integra?

Do you have a multimeter or a 12V test light, if not get one at least the 12V test light. 94

Check the fuse and the relay, if both are good, then press the horn button and listen for a click from the horn relay. If you don't hear a clicking sound, then your horn contacts are probably bad. Horn contacts are located in the SRS Clockspring. At this point, I would just wire a horn button up yourself unless you wanted to fix it the proper way.

That's just a possibility, your problem could be something entirely different.

Remove access panel on back of steering wheel, SRS shorting connector is on back/inside of panel, unplug SRS, [yellow plug] and plug in shorting connector, [air bag side], remove the two torx screws holding air bag and remove air bag, unplug horn, [and CC connector if you have CC], remove steering wheel nut, steering wheel spine is not indexed so mark position of wheel on shaft, you now have access to clock-spring, [airbag cable reel].
Once steering wheel is off make sure steering shaft is not turned at all, you can damage the clock-spring, although it may already be damaged, could be your SRS problem. 94

it is clicking when i press tje horn button and the horn is good because the installed took the horn out and touched the neg. and pos. wires to the battery and it worked fine. And i could wire up the horn differently. but if i get into a accident then the airbags wont deploy?
