Just picked up a crx, replaced the fuel pump with a walbro i had laying around i put everything back together as it was, the fuel pump wont prime so i jumped it and it kicks on but not pumping fuel to the motor. the pump i used came out of a running crx, any ideas

 

Was the fuel pump not working when you got the car?

 

If it didn't work when you got the car, check the engine grounds. I forgot the ground on the thermostat housing after my swap, and the fuel pump wouldn't prime. If they are fine, then I would guess main relay.

 

There was no fuel pump in the car. replaced with a walbro its pumping but not to the motor...gonna put some more gas in it and see if it is just low.

Check fuse #14 under the dash labeled "alternator,solenoid"

All the fuses are good im gonna mess with it more tomorrow

 

just wire up the fuel pump directly to a new relay and set up the relay to turn on for key on

 

thats what my crx is doing. pump kicks on but wont pump fuel. even after wiring it straight to a battery. im almost positive my problem is a bad connection in the tank though. make sure the ground and power wires to the pump in the tank are tight....that might be it.
