Default This is TERRIBLE... electrical problem with seatbelts??

So I have a 91 civic Si with a short or faulty ground somewhere. I have narrowed it down to something on the fuse under the hood labeled STOP.HORN, 20 amp fuse. When I pull it out, the drain on the battery stops. So kept hearing a clicking sound in the doors evertime i put it back in. Took door panels off, took dash out etc. to trace wires.

Narrowed it further to the seatbelt mechanisms in the doors draining the battery, disconnected them on both sides and drain stopped. Jumped it and drove, then the brakes and horn seem weird. Everytime I push them in, all the interior dash lights and clock and radio all get very dim.

Found a corroded ground wire under the hood, fixed and replaced it, it is now making contact but nothing different. Still draining. Happening on both doors so has to be something common, started out of nowhere about a week ago.

PLEASE help i have been tearing through wires for about 6 days ow with no change. I am about to scrap this Si for parts, giving it one week to figure it out. I really would feel terrible getting rid of this car!

Awesome thank you! I am so new to electrical this is the first big thing I have ever tackled so I am kind of shooting in the dark. I'll take the door off tonight and check it out. It's so hard to trace the wires up behind the dash. Thanks again!

check your door latch mechanism, I had a similar issue but it was the seatbelt tentioners (dealer replaced for free) but you unpluged those so i'm pretty sure you'll find somthing wrong with the door latch mechanism, it has wiring for the door sensor, but its not the dome light switch, its for something else.

and dont take your door off, its a pain in the a$$ to adjust when you reinstall it, just remove the door card and speaker to access all the wiring.

No its in the door, its part of the door latch.

Hey so I just opened up the ecu and found out that in my 91 Civic Si is a PS9, from what I have found from two different sources it is supposed to be a PM6. If you have been keeping up with my electrical nightmare! I am wondering would this be the cause of things shorting out and draining the battery the way they have been all of a sudden after running fine?

And second, does this ecu even work to keep in the car? Obviously I would rather grab the original and put that in instead, but I can't afford much more into this car.

In short, I am in need of a lot of help if this car is going to be saved from becoming a scrap car. Thanks again.
