Default DA Integra Rear Disc Conversn To EF NEED IMPUT

Hey, Recently got a deal on a DA set of trailing arms. Like usual the bushings were blown. Bought a set of Energy suspension POLY bushing that need to be pressed in My first question. DA has a larger "metal" part that is re-used. Am i not even using the DA ones just getting old out and than getting the Civic trailing arm "metal" parts and using them. Have not looked at my CIVIC's metal parts but i would assume they are smaller.... Hope they are

When purchasing these bushing kits there is a catch. They say "must reuse all metal parts". 1988-1991 civic. That be me 91 CIVIC. Confused on the reusing if its the DA or EF metal parts i want to use. Just made it as far as cleaning the items up (2) trailing arms, And noticed they were larger.
Thought about burning them out. Was sold them and person must have lost intrest becasue they rounded out some hardware on the lower control arm. I got a few of the beat hardware off of the worst condition one. Was thinking about sawzall ing the thing off. No way to get a stripped LCA bolt off easier is there.

Help Imput Advise is welcome on this one before i go and butcher the **** out of it . Thanks

So you're replacing all the bushings or just the trailing arm bushings?

ok, to put things more easily for you. you do not buy them for your car model car, you instead buy them for the car they came out of. in your case this would be a DA. if you get them for "your" car then they will not work because 88-91 civic/crx trailing arm bushings are smaller than DA ones.

this a good rule of thumb for any parts that you buy for your car. if your not sure if your original parts will work, go with what came on the original car. it tends to get a little confusing when you start crossing over parts from various honda/acura parts on your civic/crx.

The bolts oftentimes get rusted to the inside of the bushings on the lower control arms and other links on the trailing arms.Just get them off anyway you can,I have cut off more than I can remember, only problem is make sure you can get the rest of the threaded part out of the captive nut.
You will be using all of the civic/CRX parts except for the actual trailing arm.

thats what im saying, I already got them and realised they are smaller. Not sure if i can just cut out the metal/rubber and just place it in the bushing.

Read that the size is also diffrent in diamater so im probably screwed.

Anyone looking to buy a brand new set of rear trailing arm bushings?

You are on the right path. When using Civic/CRX/DC spec bushings, you can make a shim out of the old DA bushing by removing the center material and reusing the outer metal shell.

Not too sure if i understand what your saying . Dont even know if it will work.

Need Acura DA rear mounts bottom line. I f*d up buying these thinking they were for my car, 1991 civic. Not realising at the time but seeing how the DA has larger METAL parts, havent got to the underside of my car. I was thinking i can press in the bushings and use smaller civic inserts. Dont know if a Shim is right. or even correct. the visual in my head was not correct. Did not like the sound of it. No offense. Maby i dont know what your talking about. Got to make to right move(me) sometime soon

http://www.performanceforum.com/wesv...g/bushing.html This should illustrate what I was saying about the shim.

Thanks- Read that one

Probably going to just buy the DA integra bushings Becasue CIVIC/CRX bushings are same where as CIVIC/CRX/DC is not same. Not sure why you put your words or letters in that order becasue last time i checked a Civic is not the same chassis as a DA and a DA is not the same as a CRX.

Just re looked at your typing. Says DC. confused about DC knowing a DA is a 90-93 integ i take it you are refering to a 1994-01 DC integra. Had no idea about the compatibility of these bushings to a 1994 integra. I was slightly confused on the Civic/Crx/Dc. i immideatly thought DA and was like wtf

I jumped the gun on the bushings becasue they were what i thought was a deal, Priced them out and was a variance from 50-70 bucks. These were wayy cheaper and are Energy suspension parts. Will not need them. Ill just take Another loss and throw them in the New parts that cant be used pile.

Break it down:

The outer diameter of the Civic, CRX, and DC Integra bushings are all the same to within 0.0001" (as the last time I checked). As such, they basically are the same part with different part #s.

The DA bushing is a fat bastards, it's outer diameter is larger than the Civic, CRX, and DC Integra.
