Converting CRV Rear Diff from real-time to "full-time"
I've been doing some research. I've learned that the AWD in CRV's are real-time which means it isn't always 4WD, in fact, rear wheels get powered only when the front wheels slip.
It is operated by dual hydraulic pumps that delivers power to rear when there is a pressure difference.
And I was wondering if anyone ha converted it so it is full-time 4WD. Would it be as simple as just taking the pump portion off of the diff assembly? or am I better off looking for a different diff with no hydraulic pump mechanism?
Thanks

iirc the system in the rear is only designed to take a max of like 20-30% of available tq in the rear. Not sure if the system can be overridden or cheated or whatever, but my suggestion is, if you need a more competent 4wd system you should start looking into options other than the crv.
