Claying motor ? How to remove oil rails to switch rocker pistons ?
I am going to clay my motor but I have a question about on how to remove the oil rails so I can switch the rocker pistons to lock the valve train in VTEC mode. I was reading the helm manual and basically they say to remove the sealing bolt and VTEC solenoid then remove the to oil orifaces to remove the oil rails. I haven't tried this yet but how do you remove the oil orifaces ? Can I just pull them out ? Also, after I pull the two oil orifaces will I be able to pull the rail out using a 12 mm bolt ?
Thanks for any info.
Thanks for any info.
Yep just pull them out(dont mix them up), then use a allen(hex) wrench to remove the cap on the end of the head and pull the rod out slightly to remove a set of rockers. If you are swapping pins in the rockers, I find it easier to have a good small magnet to remove the flush one.
There are threads on the inside of the rail, I can't remember the size. But, thread a bolt into the rail (once you figure out the thread size) and pull gently. Use the head of the bold as the handle. Its helpd to rubberband the rockers together to avoid mix up.
