Default Custom Box for Civic Trunk

Hey guys Im looking for some suggestions. I currently have a huge box in my trunk for my 12" jl sub.Its taking up way too much room. Im looking to make a box that will fit in the spare wheel well and flush mount it. If I make the box any shape, will I still get the same sound as long as I have the correct recommended air space for the sub which is 1.25 cu ft. Does anyone have any dimensions for a box like the one I want to make?

Theres not much depth to flush a sub there. But if you are willing to get a smaller sub, it can be done. You could try fiberglass to make the most available space. Use 1-2" wide masking tape to cover the entire wheel well space including the flat areas around it. Spray some mold release onto it, lay about 5-10 layers of fiberglass, or until its at least 0.25" thick. When it dries, pop it out and see what kind of depth you have to work with depending on what sub youre using. You may need to use MDF to add some height, then you can simply use MDF strips to make the rest of the floor at that level, then cut a new floor peice with the hole cutout for the sub.
