your going to need injectors/pump,Good header and a tune after that.
some 390cc or 440cc

even if you werent going to p&p you should see over 200+hp with just prelude 310cc and pump.(since your not going all out)

A good valve job can produce some CFM, but that doesn't address the simple casting imperfections in the port. There is certainly power to be had with a good cylinder head. We usually see 20whp on pretty mild motors with a good head, double that on big high compression motors, and massive power on big turbo cars.

CFM gained does not all produce equal horsepower. We have found that CFM picked up at the valve and close to the valve produces more than that picked up further away. Remember that Honda designed that port for a 170hp 1.8 L engine. Now you are trying to make quite a bit more power and the fuel associated with that power and shove it down the same port. Just like all the other things you do to improve your engines ability to make power, intake, manifold, cams, etc....this is no different. There are a few crap heads on the market and a lot of "ok" ones. FWIW, I'll have my CNC B-Series completed in about 2 months, and I can turn them around in a couple days. Not trying to make a deliberate sales pitch, but I know some guys are having problems with getting their stuff back in a month, 2 months, 12+ months.

Put it on a dynapack and you'll get your 200. I think you are looking at 185-190 on a dynojet. Port the head and you might get there. Are you willing to run a little more compression?

HELL YES!

I dyno'd my setup @ DNR yesterday.

Gsr block with p30 pistons,
DNR head work, valve job, and blox cams and valvetrain....

all the normal NA goodies....did 210 on pump gas (91 octane) and thats the actual corected number...no knife edged crank or anything like that

I highly recomend it! You did all the rest, don't miss out on the potential power.

If your in the Bay Area...I strongly recomend DNR. I am a very happy customer!

The HSL's are a copy of the skunk 2 tuner 3 profiles. The skunk 2, pro 1 or 2 cams would be a better choice here. The performer X intake manifold would also be a better choice. If he wants to stay with Blox, I would look at the Blox B's or C's (skunk2 stage 2 tuner cams and Jun 3 copy cams respectively).

I don't know what kind of porting can be done for $300-400 to be honest. That is the price for a basic rebuild with no porting. Achieving good flow takes some time, and that is why the prices are they way they are.

If you are putting new valves in, yes you need a valve job. A good one will run you about $175, but remember you still have to pay for the disassembly, cleaning, vj, etc. $400 should get you a VJ, surface, cleaned, etc...no porting.
