sounds to me like similar to an ls-v setup, but with a gsr block. What kind of 4-1 header are you going to use? This will be a pretty big determining factor in the final power output, as well as the final exhaust choice (a 2.5ish to make the most power I'd say). I think the power output would be close to that of the type R range, because you're using R cams and the specs are similar. It will probably make a bit more hp and torque because of the stroke difference from the ls crank, depending on the tune.

Hytech replicas, from what I've read, are alright at best. They are priced right, but they don't make comparable power to that of a real hytech header. I've read fitment can be a pain in the *** with the replica headers, but if the nice price out weighs those issues then I say go for it. I've read quite a few good things about the rmf narrow style headers Kiddracing is selling on here, and they're priced pretty good. I would almost rather use an oem jdm 4-1 header because they have proven bang for the buck performance compared to knock off headers.
As far as the exhaust goes, I think you would benefit quite a bit from a 2.5 exhaust. 2 and a quarter is usually thought to be more appropriate for a d series build. Also, going with a thinner head gasket is something you could consider, to raise the comp a bit for a boost in power. Something to think about. Other then that though sounds good to me, I hope it all works out for you.

Im trying to go with the exact same setup, but im still deciding between p30 pistons or RS machine pr3 pistons that are half the price with rings, but anyway good luck and let me know how it goes.

I believe that unless you need to use a LS crank and rods its not worth loosing the better and stronger GSR rods, unless of course you run an aftermarket rods.
Aftermarket rods are not absolutely necessary but I feel that while OEM rods have been used with success I feel that they are a weak link.

Their $160 with rings, and there great quality. Also they have CTR and ITR replica pistons in stock bore up to 85mm I think.

H22a...more power and more potential later on and OEM build out of the box...heres a simple bolt-on mild cam dyno...Pro 2's would be better but you get the idea
