Ok so heres my dilemma.. My friend says he's never seen an EF like mine. My car is from Canada and i have power steering and also have this weird vacuum control system on the passenger side of my firewall.... somebody help please..? my friend says hes never seen a USDM EF my color and with these amenities..

 

First things first, you don't have an EF.

Indeed only hatchs from japan are efs if its us or canada its ed look on ur vin it will tell u........

Obviously people know that.. So for all you **** people out there i have an ED6... Does anybody whose actually trying to help have any input..? What amenities did the Canadian models come wit..? Are ED6's common to have these parts..?

 

I going to go out on a limb and say the power stewing was swapped in, and you will most likely have a DX or Si model. Give us more info about the car.

Shifter console or just boot?
Black rear tail light in the middle or red lense style?
Dpfi or mpfi?
4spd or 5 spd?

And by vacuum control your probably talking about the purge solenoids which mount next to the map sensor.
We need more to go off of than it has power steering.

 

is it dpfi or mpfi...that would help if it listed that

 

From the looks of the car... The power steering looks stock and everything is Honda.. its Automatic and DPFI.

 

Also red lens center piece but could have been swapped...

since its dpfi its either the std or the dx. i cant confirm that forsure but maybe someone will know more. gl man

 

Dont have access to a camera rite now.. But the vacuum control im taking about is rite above the fuel filter assembly.. and the questions have been answered...

well i think you need some pics before people can really tell cause right your just giving us info that u have a hatch from canada and it has power steering. So it would be wise to post pics and that would probly solve the problem with everyone not helping you, and you should be a little nicer to the members like 4drEF because he was helping you by telling you your car wasnt a ef. Then you call him a **** sucker no wonder no one is helping you just a thought.

I thought I knew something... no - i knew exactly what I was saying.
You flat out don't have an EF so trying to help you determine which EF you have is impossible.
You didn't even say if it was a hatch, wagon, sedan or CRX.
Pretty freaking VAGUE question.

Anyway, check your firewall or wherever else you can find your VIN # and check it against this

For your paint color, look in your door jams for the sticker and you can verify if you have stock color paint.

Any other options you won't be able to verify if they were from factory or swapped in unless you have the original window sticker from the sale OR maybe have somebody at Honda see if they can look it up somehow.
You can also check on the options that you are skeptical about and see if they were ever offered as an option.

Oh - and the problem with MOST people on HT is that they don't use SEARCH and figure out the OBVIOUS on their own.

 

Im not here to worry about people feelings... And if you've read all the posts people are trying to help... But i dont see what pics will do different..? the only thing that need a pic is the vacuum system.. otherwise power steering doesnt need a pic nor the automatic trans. And everybody knows what the DPFI looks like also....

 

Ok.. see now that helps.... And sorry if i left some stuff out.. people make mistakes.. If i knew everything i wouldnt be on here asking for help... obviously....

ive seen dx hatches with stock power steering. the vacum system your talking about is most likely the map.

 

How so..?

 

If your car is an automatic.

Hatches with auto's had dpfi and power steering.

My buddy has one.

Also if it is made in canada the door tag is usually red instead of the blue color.
