Default EK civic: ASR subframe, ASR 24mm swaybar + OEM 99-00 EM1 endlinks?

Anybody know if the EK ASR 24mm rear swaybar when used with an ASR subframe brace on a 96-00 Civic will work with OEM 99-00 Si/EM1 endlinks and LCA's? or do you have to use aftermarket endlinks of some kind?

Si endlinks will work as long as the LCA isn't any thicker than the stock LCA. When running the Function 7 LCAs you need to use a longer bolt/stud for the endlink hence aftermarket links.

Yes, I've got stock LCA's.
thanks!

Also, I just found on ASR's site it mentions that "endlinks are optional" for their 24mm EK swaybar.

F7 lca endlink holes should be too deep for OE endlinks.

So you'd have to use aftermarket spherical links.

Not necessarily.... One can still use oem endlinks... I have a pair of these arms on EK9 and had the hole on the LCA for the endlink machined in deep enough so as to permit adequate threading on the other end for the nut to go on the endlink... Im in school at the moment but I would have taken a picture to show exactly what im talking about... I tried Blox spherical endlinks and hated them... They were rediculously noisy and one of them broked on my car during cornering.... Stick with oem endlinks....

On their website it states that the ASR brace will work with many OEM swaybars. I have a 14mm integra bar and I cant figure out what D bracket I need to make it fit on my EK-RB-02B ASR brace. It looks like I need a larger swaybar so that the D bracket is larger and fits into the holes provided.

Does anybody have pics of an EM1/GSR swaybar on an ASR subframe brace?

Thanks

ASR braces are designed besides to function as a brace also to mimic the dimensions of the larger CTR/ITR subframe, so that your subframe together with the brace has the same dimensions as that of the CTR/ITR (more specific the sway mounts are at the same 'place').

Together with that the holes for the D-brackets are meant for CTR/ITR like sway sizes so starting at 22mm for both.

SI 13mm, EK4 15mm and like have smaller D-brackets than 22mm ones so don't fit the ASR brace.

Maybe with an aftermarket D-bracket (like ES has I think) one could mount smaller sizes, but I don't know.

Ya I had a 14mm swaybar and decided to get a brace since I didnt have a backing plate on my subframe and didnt have any reinforcement. Turns out I can't even use the bar I have now so I need to upgrade to CTR/ITR. Where should I go about looking for a new one?

This thread has gotten way off topic, so I'll continue the trend..

I (the original poster) ended up finding a deal on a used CTR 22mm bar and went with that and an ASR subframe brace for my EM1. I read that the CTR bar has better clearance on the EK than an ITR bar. Even still, the endlinks were rubbing my aftermarket exhaust slightly.

EM1 endlinks = CTR endlinks, but those things with their odd allen bolt size are very easy to strip. I ended up destroying and drilling out my OEM EM1 endlinks, glad the used CTR bar I bought came with another set of endlinks..

Soon 2BE: check Ebay, search here, and any JDM importer for a CTR rear bar. They are a bit hard to find but not too expensive if you do find one.

What bushings did you use for the CTR bar? The OE CTR ones are not available from Honda in the US.

Endlinks that are (some) years old are bitches to dismount, you just cut them and buy new ones

I have that setup once I found the USDM ITR RSB had the bushing hole for the endlinks. I've got the comptech brace (which sadly doesn't support the OEM D-brackets and RSB bushings) using universal 22mm (7/8") brackets and bushings and using 99-00 Si endlinks on the CTR bar.

I think ASR incorporated their new 24mm bar to look like the ctr where the endlinks go (a smart decision and easier)

I'm trying to find someone that would like to trade their ASR subframe brace for my comptech. They both serve the same purpose, but I would love to use the OEM D-brackets and bushings.

I have noticed that the FSB endlinks are shorter, but I don't think they could used in the back.
