My parents arent letting me get a turbo right away (im 16 so the car is under my dads name ) , so I gotta stick with bolt ons for a while. I was wondering what kind of stuff I should get like throttle body intkae manifold etc, and what brands for these parts your would recommend.

It is a 1997 civic ex with the d16y8 motor.

Save a lot of money because you will be spending a lot on the turbo system and the engine.

i would BUY the exhaust but not install it
your gonna want a 3" exhaust and it will kill your performance till your boosted.

i would save money if i were you
or if your really diehard
buy an engine and start building it.

 

i dont think thats such a great idea since prices constantly drop and new things come out. if you want to do turbo, then just save money and dont do anything, if you already have money, then do internals of the engine now, so you can boost higher later.

 

I think i will just get the money for the kit, a BOV, clutch (have the $$ ready for whe the stock one goes out) and guages. Then I will keep buying stuff as I go.

I already have an apex'i WS exhaust, I didnt think I was gonna turbo back when I bought it, but 2.3" is better than stock, and I will only be running like 5 psi, so I am not out the be the faster guy on the street, so I think I will pass on the exhaust for now, but eventually, who knows??
