since you're doing that, might as well replace the waterpump.

Shouldn't need to. It's always possible your tensioner will break but in general replacing it isn't necessary. Just do the timing belt and water pump and you should be fine.

timing belt, waterpump, cam seal (2) and crank seal (1). lil tip for ya since its yur first time... mark yur original timing belt with white out. ex: a mark on the intake cam sprocket and belt, exhaust cam sprocket and belt then crank gear pulley and belt. y? u can transfer those marks (from the original belt) to the new belt. eases the alignment...

Go ahead and replace the tensioner and water pump. Its all right there. Helms manual is great for this. Also, your crank pulley bolt might be very tough to take off. I needed to use a pipe on the end of a breaker bar to break it loose. I almost flew across the room when it finally broke loose, thats how tough it was to loosen.

I estimate mine was above 400 ft lbs, because I could stand on a 2 ft. breaker bar and it wouldn't move.

I would change the belt and water pump.

If you feel like spending the time and money changing the pullies or rollers out, go ahead.

Definitely inspect them to make sure they're functional.

You might want to replace your engine block while you're at it too. And throw on some new muffler bearings, you never know when those will go bad.

haha. No need to replace the tensioner. Waaaaste of money.

i wouldnt say its a waste of money to replace the tensioner. after so many years of wear and tear its best to change it as well.dont half *** timing belt changes.

Thats a good idea! I never thought of marking the gears and belt when i did my belt, water pump and cam seals.

I have replaced the timing belt and water pump 3 times on my car (every 90K, yes it has over 270K) and I have done the belt, water pump, tensioner pulley, pulley spring, cam seals, and crank seals every time.
