Default 88-91 dohc zc onto 91-95 dohc zc?

I bought an 88-91 year model dohc ZC and after a year I spun a bearing.

I called to buy another one and they don't have that exact year model ZC in stock, they only have the one for the 91+ year model.

The sales man said I could take the dizzy and intake off my 88-91 and put it on the 91+ and it will work.

Is this true?

Yes but you will also need to take the Cam angle sensor off the old motor and put it on the new one.

you don't need to change the intake manifold - just plug the connector for the MAP sensor that is on the firewall for the OBD0 engine into the MAP sensor on top of the throttle body on the OBD1 engine - you will need to either: swap out the injectors on the OBD1 engine for the ones on the OBD0 engine, or, remove the injector resistor box and use the OBD1 injectors - the OBD1 engine has the cooling fan switch on the thermostat housing and the OBD0 engine has it on the back of the block - you need to take the connector off the OBD1 engine and splice it onto cooling fan wires on your engine harness in order to plug it in to the switch on the thermostat housing - and, as Sickocivic said, you need to use the distributor and cylinder sensor (on the end of the exhaust cam) from your OBD0 engine

you will also need to swap the driver's side engine mount from your OBD0 engine onto the OBD1 engine - this may involve trimming the front timing belt cover where the mount comes through

I am fixing to commit to buying the 91-95 dohc zc engine again and I thank you for your help.

Seems easy enough.
