serious idle problems after putting engine back in

serious idle problems after putting engine back in
the car is a 97 EK JDM SiR (b16a)
Iv just got my car running after a rebuild but the idle is all over the place, iv reconnected everything as far as im aware. there was a sensor in the intake that a wire had broken but i reconnected it temporarily, the 02 sensor is not connected either but i have run the car with the 02 in the past and the idle is fine.
please help!
