Default B16 Idles real high

So my b16 idles really high when i start motor cold, it idles at about 3000 rpm until it warms up and then returns to 850, i think its my FITV, and i know there is a way to adjust it, i read that i can open it up and tighten the plunger in the FITV, but how do i know how tight to do it, does that sound right?

check you IACV also, behind the IM. Clean that out with some carb cleaner and let it dry it self out, then hose it out when its dry. check to see if your TB is stuck partially open, it could be for some reason.

you said when it starts up, its at like 3k, but then drops to 850, is that when your driving it then come to a redlight or something? what about if you start up the car, let it sit and get to operating temp, what happens then?
