Are u throwing a code also? Cuz my 02 type s did that and threw a code for the iacv so what I did was took off the iacv and cleaned the inside of it with brake parts cleaner and now it runs perfectly fine. Let me kno if this works for you

 

vacuum leak or tps sensor is more than likely your problem....try searching next time...this topic comes up way to often
