HELP!knocking grinding?
I've did countless hours of trying to search for this problem..but none of them answers my question. There is a knocking type of noise in my transmission. previous owner told me that the trans might be slighly leaking. so what I did was added a 80w-90 gear oil, and not even 1/4 of the quart of gear oil the tranny got full, cause it started to pour out of the filler hole on top of the tranny.
Here is what's happening to my car...start the car everything seems fine..throw it into reverse its fine...i put in first it's fine...around 2k rpm through 3k rpm, a knocking noise starts to appear...the faster i go, the louder it gets...sounds like a knocking motor..but it's not...when i put it in neutral, and off the car and let it roll, i slightly hear it..but start it back and trow it back into gear..it's loud..what could it be..
it's a b18b motor with a s80 trans. cable to hydro converted with a 6puck unsprung clutch and flywheel..additional info..3rd and 4th grinds at high rpm but not at low rpm..help me out..pls..it's the only car i have left..

nah it can't be the tob cause i reversed my car and put it in first gear, did a small dry hop..then it got worse...when i try to go, it'll make a loud click then it would go, then it'll lock..it feels like i slamed on the brakes...arghh...could be it input shaft bearing or countershaft bearing

Could be an axle or something as well. If the noise gets louder with speed rather then engine RPM, then it is Counter-shaft, diff, axles, hub problems and not engine, clutch/flywheel, or input shaft issues.

There's your problem, you used 80w-90 GEAR OIL and you filled it from the TOP OF THE TRANNY.
Filler hole is on the passenger side of the tranny not the top. You used the wrong fluid and overfilled it.

so your telling me that, this is what caused my tranny to act this way and damage the internal components of my trans? any way to fix it?

You'll have to drain the oil that's in there now and fill it with proper Honda MTF, to the proper level (fill bolt on the side, just above the drain bolt -- fill it till it's level with the bottom of the fill bolt hole on the side), and try it out. If you still have a problem, unfortunately it's likely that your tranny was damaged.
