I got a set and wonder should I keep them for my turbo setup, or get an itr exhaust and ctr intake. What does everyone think? For dd 15 psi lsvt

 

What turbo set-up are you running?

 

You can make plenty of power on stock GSR cams... I made 563whp on a stock sleeved LS Vtec with a GSR head and stock GSR cams... 24.5psi on an sc61

 

ctr itr will always help but i made 415 on my stock Gsr cams at the same psi.

 

Turbonetics pre 07 turbo, most likely a ram horn or top mount and a inter cooler to match the my front bumper size. Type s or rfl bov and gunning for w/g vented to atmosphere as well as back doored setup

 

GSR Cams @ relatively low boost. I would of expected to pick up 50+whp at the same boost with ITR Cams.

Might as well use what you have.

 

If you're using a GOOD ram horn like a Full Race, the itr cams are the way to go. If you're using a log or cast set up, stick with your gsr cams.

 

made 505whp at 20psi on gsr cams, I would stick with them if you already have them.

 

with gsr's, 540whp 27 psi b16 conservative tune. reving to 10k.
i say conservative because it was the first time we tuned a car with power hahaa. (well back in 06)

 

You can make power on gsr cams that's not a problem, but the itrs will make more with a good manifold.

 

what does changing from gsr cams to itr cams do to your power band? will it make your set up want to rev higher?

 

I believe its not just the power upgrade but it probable has something to do with the lobes/duration as well. But hey I'm just assuming

now im really considering going wth itr cams on my stock gsr. whats the most i can rev to on my stock gsr valvetrain with itr cams??

 

Gsr cams have been known to make power but as stated the ITR's will make more..... how much power do you want to make?

 

My set up made peak power at 7300 on 9 psi with b16 cams. Would itr cams change where I make peak power at or would it stay the same? I know all motors are different but that is amazing to see on your dynograph. I would like to keep my peak power lower something like the way mine is now.

 

^^^ definately get something else besides those b16 cams. they must be a real bottleneck on your setup. i think you will find more power from the midrange and up, not sure how much higher you will make peak power though.

 

I was looking at the marks on them and looked them up and they are the B17 cams. I don't know what the difference is but thats what they are. I would like to get something better but I don't want to turn the motor harder than what I am now.

 

B16/B17 are pretty much the same, you will see very large gains swapping to GSR Cams and huge gains going to ITR's.

If you dont want to Rev any higher than dont, you can clearly see all the power is not made at redline.

 

I was thinking that they must be closer to B16 cams than GSR cams. Would changing to GSR's help spool my turbo faster? What was the setup on the dyno you posted ?

Red graph was on stock GSR cams/Blue was ITR cams
Both were on 14psi and both on the same dyno
AFi ramhorn
880cc injectors
E85
57 trim
blox IM
Tsudo 70mm exhaust
Tuned on crome pro

pretty simple setup and you can see the gains are pretty damn good in some areas... i would pick up some ITR's if you can..if not atleast get some GSR's i have some for sale if you need em
