ok, so i bought a 91 crx from some cat you said it needed a fuel pump. so i bought a brand new pump and fuel tank (i didnt feel like cleaning the old one) and cleaned all the rust off the housing and level sending unit. so nothing in the tank to clogg anything. in attemps to start the car, i failed. i can hear the fuel pump kick on for 2 seconds like its supposed to, but i have no pressure at the filter. i took 120 lbs of compressed air and made sure all the fuel lines were clean. no cloggs anywhere. so i undid the line on top of the actual tank and primed it to see if it would spray fuel, and nothing. it doesnt even seem like its getting to the banjo bolt on top of the pump housing. so in conclusion, pump kicks on but no pressure. this is now the second pump ive tried and same problem with both. i cant for the love of all things pink, figure this out. any help would be greatly thanked.

well i tried it. when i primed it, the car made a beeping sound that it didnt make before for a couple seconds and the pump sounds a little different. it sounds like its more drowned with gas than it did before. if that makes sense. but still no pressure. i went to the honda parts depot. (mainly because they are giving away free "i heart my Honda" stickers) but i figured i would ask the guy while i was there. he said maybe its sucking in air near the feed line. im positive it isnt because ive gone through the system twice now and found nothing. so.........ive come to the conclusion; FUEL SYSTEMS FTL!

this just hit me like Tommy and Pam Anderson! think of the gas tank like a glass coke bottle; if you drink out of this bottle and dont let air back in, after a second the coke stops coming out. maybe by chance the vent valve on the tank is shot to hell?...not venting the tank. if this sounds retarded and completely implausible, let me know. im just thinking out loud.
This is not making sense.... How are you checking fuel pressure at the filter?
Does the pump prime and deliver fuel to the filter?
Did you cross the fuel lines on the filter?

i have an aftermarket fuel pressure gauge on the filter. like i said, the pump kicks on, just doesnt seem to be pumping. no, the lines arent backwards on the filter. and the wires on the pump are right. like ive said, ive been through the system twice now so i know every thing is fine.
