so i have asked one too many times on here exactly what i needed to switch them. over and again everyone told me all i needed was the bumper and that it bolts straight up.....this is wrong my bumper is currently hanging off of my car so ill ask again lol

what else am i gunna need?
im guessing all i need is the 90-91 front bumper support instead of the support from the 88-89. is this correct? if not please steer me in the right direction on what else im gunna need trying to finish up this project tomorrow so all help is much appreciated

 

The 88-89 and 90-91 bumpers mount the same way. Off the top of my head there are 3 phillips head bolts on the top middle, one on each top corner, 2 screws on the inside edge (fender well) of each side. The only thing that changes is the bumper support if you have an HF. What year is your rex? Is your current bumper support a big heavy beam, or a thin strip style?

 

its an 88 si and its a big heavy beam lol

 

oh and plus the bolts didnt even line up correctly to the support

 

If it's just the bumper you are talking about, switching is simple, bolts right up, i swapped one on my 89 crx, took 20 mins

 

thats what you told me last time deetz and i took it and ran with it. now the sides of the bumper wont even fit around to screw into place and the holes to bolt on the bumper support dont line up on the left and right sides all fine in the middle though.

looks like i rear ended a curb hahahaha

 

Pictures would sure help your verbal description sounds to me your doing something wrong or the bumper is damaged or your vehicle front end is damaged done this swap vise-versa a bunch of times

Like said above, take some pics of the issues. They should just line up, and swap.

 

when i bought my 90 crx it had no bumper but it did have a 90-91 support. i bought an 89 bumper from the junkyard and it bolted on with out any issues. later on i found a 90 bumper and that one fits on perfect. you might need to get a new support that is for 90-91 and don't forget the foam cushioning.
