Anyone running itr rear sway bar with a brace?
I'd like to install and itr rear sway bar but I don't wanna drop 200 bucks on the asr subframe brace either. Anyone running this setup without a brace or maybe just using the beaks install kit. Thanks,Adam
Your subframe is meant to handle a 12mm sway not the 22mm ITR sway bar because it is not nearly as strong. You need a subframe reinforcement to so the ITR sway bar doesnt rip your subframe out. The ITR subframe came thicker than any other integra from the factory, thats why they do not need a brace.
I've see people run them without braces but they dont last that long. Even the Beaks bar has ripped out the subframe in some cars.

So run the 2nd Gen Comptech brace....given it too cost $200, but it works. I have the ASR on myself (with 24mm sway). The only thing I didnt like was the fact that they suggest drill out the threads for the stock sway. I personally went with longer bolts and double nutted it to avoid doing that incase I want to return to stock one day. Suppose I could have drilled them and then added a nut if I went back to stock, but it works fine...proably better to be dead honest.
I've been searching this topic all day at work. When I say beaks kit I'm not talking about thier tie bar. They sell a 70 dollar subframe reinforcement kit. Bsq has one for 20 but it looks cheap. So far it seems like the beaks kit with itr sway bar is just fine. Haven't seen mention of tear out yet. I'm not going to spend 200 dollars on any type of brace if I can't find proof that I need it. Here is a link to what I'm planning on doing. http://pages.sbcglobal.net/sfr4dr/sway_bar.htm
Keep in mind, it also depends what suspension you are running. Super stiff suspension isnt going to "roll" much which puts less load on the sway bar and subframe. Stock springs on the other hand are a different story. Thus, the beaks will likely be fine, but why spend $70 for that when for an extra $130 you can get a blingin' brace (my ASR has those same little brackets on the rear).

Been using the ITR sway bar, Beaks kit, and stock ITR rear springs for nearly 5 years with ZERO issues.
Before that I had a BSQ kit for a couple of years, again no issues. Only reason I changed was because I had the money sitting in my paypal account.
I think the examples of tear-out with the Beaks kit were on 96-00 Civics, which are plagued with a notoriously weak subframe. I have not seen any Integra tear out when used with a Beaks mount kit. Sure the ASR kit is nice and provides top-notch reinforcement. But I'm just saying that the Beaks kit is adequate, even with relatively soft springs.

^^^ exactly what i wanted to hear. Thanks a lot Now I'll take that 130 bucks I saved and put it towards my progress coilover setup.

I've been running the BSQ kit for a year now and have had no problems. I would highly recommend that kit, because it's hella cheap compared to anything else and he has great customer service!
Although having said that, I just clicked on the link to his site in his sig and the site is dead. Maybe he's not selling them anymore, but you could PM him, member "BSQ"

Yeah I already sent him a message. Also someone has ripped off the beaks kit and sells it on ebay for 55 shipped. It's machined out of aluminum also so I'll probably go with that. Anybody know of a good place to get the itr rear sway bar. I want it to include "everything" jhp has it for 175 plus 40 shipping.
I looked into the BSQ but it seemed to me they weren't being made anymore, so I got the ASR thinking it was the only option (with BSQ and Comptech gone). Didn't know Beaks made a reinforcement kit like the BSQ. GJ for the OP! Progress coils will be a little more useful than a shiny metal bar.
I have had the itr sway bar on for over five years. I used a 1" plate & washers I got from Lowes.
I don't drive overly aggressively or race much.

Everything but endlinks brand new from honda is 140 shipped. Anyone know the oem part # for ls/gsr endlinks? Right now I'm looking at 195 shipped for reinforcement kit and itr sway bar with all hardware except endlinks.
