squealing from trans
i have a 90 civic si hatch with a d15b swap. im using the si trans with a stage 3 act clutch. ive been driving this ef for almost 3 years now. the clutch grabs fine with no slipping, no vibration in the clutch pedal or anything. ive noticed that since winter started and its cold that the trans gives out a loud squeal when i take off in first gear. my first thought was my throwout bearing but it seems to only do this when i first drive it in the morning to work. now lately when i press the clutch to come to a stop the car still goes a bit like its in gear. ive adjusted my cable and it seems to have no effect. any ideas?
its my dd and downtime in january isnt an option right now really. i have my b16 ef in the garage anyways. ive been searching the squeal noise and it sounds as either my throwout or the input shaft pilot bearing is on its way out. if thats the case as long as it lasts till spring ill be fine. i still need to get my b16 to pass emissions so i can drive the damn thing
WELL my drivers side axle broke thursday night driving home from work. fixed it friday morning. then today while driving on the highway my 5th gear goes out. poof no more 5th. its safe to say this trans is done for. so i may have to pull the trans now anyways
