Default Worn shift rod

If your shift rod is worn at the riveted joint near the trans, is there anything that can be done about that? I was going to buy a new one but Honda discontinued it. Does anyone else make a new shift rod for a 92 eg hatch d-series trans?

Shifter's got new bushings in it. That's not the problem. Problem is the other joint in the shift rod,up near the trans, which is held together by a rivet.

you're talking about the U-joint in the shift linkage between the stick and the trans case?

if you can't get it from Honda anymore, i think your best option would be to find one in a junk yard or through the classifieds (craigslist, hondamarketplace, ebay... and so on)
