Default 01 DC4 squeak when cutting ignition?

Hey i have an issue in my DC4 that's been driving me nuts....

After my commute everyday (16 miles) i hear a couple of squeaks that come from the engine bay when i turn off my car. (sounds kinda like a squeegie on glass)
it doesn't do it when i turn it on or while driving. it's only when i turn it off on longer drives.

i have 82k miles on my B18B

any ideas?

thanks,
Ricky

Interesting problem.

Get somebody else to turn the car off while you listen under the hood. Could be a loose heat-shield that is expanding/contracting and rubbing against something.

try spraying some belt dressings on your drive belts first and see if the squeaking stops.

I had a similar problem when I took off my PS belt for a bit (I guess I am a bit of a masochist) and when I got sick of it and put on a new belt I haven't tightened it enough and it made a squealing sound, sometimes at start, sometimes at stop. If you replaced the belt recently check if it is tightened properly.

A buddy of mine also had a problem with his PS where some thing happened to the pulley and it would sometimes just seize, according to him, so check how well the pulley turns too.

Best of luck.

I've heard a squeak when turning off my car also. For some reason I'm thinking it might actually be one of the door locks, actuators, etc. because I have an alarm that automatically locks my doors 3 seconds after starting, and unlocks them when I shut the car off. So when I shut the car off, the doors unlock, and I think the squeak might be from one of the locks.
