may be dumb question butt.....
i need new tires and i don't know what to get. i have done various searches and get people saying that the kumho ecsta 712s suck and i have people praising them. currently at discount tire they are like 80 bux i think...i'm not sure the exact price. neways i have a friend that is telling me to get the kumho ecsta mx tires are those good?? what are some other good tires that possibly get?? i want it in a 205/50/15 size. thanx
Get the cheapest tires you can for street tires and a set of wheels with race tires if you want to do competition events.
Street tires are only there to keep your wheels from hitting the ground IMO.
You'll come to appreciate tires that last a long time once you start using R compounds on the track.

Definately Azenis if you want bang for the buck but if you want to spend more, get s-03's.

yes i know of tirerack and i went there but i don't know which tires i should get. i don't have another set of wheels so i can't get a set of street tires and a set of track tires. i am looking for a tire that has better handling than the stock michelin tires , better grip, quieter, and will last longer if not the same. thanx
also how long do the potenza S-03 pole position tires last and how long do the azenis sport tires last? thanx
You can't expect 'sporty' tires to last a long time.
Depends on weather, driving style, road conditions.

rule of thumb.. if it's soft, sticky, and grips well, it probably isn't going to have a very long tread life(the amount of miles you can safely get out of it).. you trade the high performance for tire life..
I have 7.5K on my original re010's. They probably only have 2-3k more on them. My current tire, 195/50 S-03's, they have about 15K on them and tons of tread. They are solely for daily driving. I'd say you can get much more than 10k out of the S-03's. I don't know from personal experience, but many here have said that the Falken Azenis will NOT last very long on the road... 10K may be a good estimate. Soft and sticky tires aren't made to last long, and long lasting hard rubber tires aren't made to perform like their soft and sticky counterparts. Personally, I'd get 195/50 S-03's. It's not worth the extra $$ to get 205/50, in my opinion.
