Hey guys.

I just dropped a SOHC ZC motor in my 93 CX. The motor runs great, has excellent compression, no leaks, etc...

My question is that the valvetrain seems a little loud to me. No weird ticks, everything is in time... its just, to my ears, loud.

Is this a normal thing for those engines or is there something I can do to quiet it down some?

are you mistaking valvetrain noise with injector noise?

 

No. Its definitely coming from under the valve cover. It may be perfectly normal for one of these motors but I don't don't know what to listen for on one of these engines.

 

ummm valvetrain noise is under the valve cover, these motors have loud valvetrains to start with so yes it is normal
