Default cl front end conversion?

ok so i just picked up a 95 db7 sedan not too long ago...but the front end has seen better days. i was thinking eventually i want to change the front end up a bit. everyone always goes for the jdm type r front end...but i remember back in the days, i've seen a small hand full of integgies w/ cl front ends.
so my question is; is that custom work? or is it a bolt on thing? what is needed to do the cl front end on the integra? any info is helpful. thanx. btw, if this topic was covered before, im sorry, but i did a search and came up empty handed..

Sorry, I'm just going to suggest you clean up the OEM front. The CL front just looks WRONG. Sure it can look different, but now days it's just crappy.

i googled integra with cl front end, one sight was suggesting that it's a bolt up affair... doesn't hurt to try something new though. good luck!

It's not different, it's been done and its just plain hideous.

I can't believe somebody is actually asking this, 15 years later.

Holy crap I can't believe it's been 14 years since I picked up that very first issue of Super Street at the WalMart near my house... that 15 years later comment made me think of it

1st gen Acura CL headlights = downgrade even from stock Integra halogen projectors.

Something you never see mentioned, anyone ever wonder what the front crash protection is like after the front of the car is cut off and replaced with the front of a different car? And if there are any differences in where the crumple zones were located between the 2 cars, or the strength is from rigidity in different areas between them, you might end up with a frankenstein that lacks the strength/protection of either...

I know exactly how you feel. It's been 12 years since I picked up my first issues of SCC (RIP) and Super Street. I still have a hard time excepting that these cars are no longer what they once were, if that makes any sense. The new generation has no idea what used to be.

Even throughout the body kit and conversion craze of the mid-late 90's, my conservative side always kept me from going that route for that exact reason. I always knew that there were serious draw backs, and aside from that, you can never improve such a unique design.

Probably not as bad as you might assume....if it was done right anyway. Then again, most Integras have probably been "totalled" out at this point and have cheap/crappy rework done anyway. Just like my "clean" title, never been wrecked Integra. Broken into, interior pieces missing, ignition column busted, drivers sheet metal peeled back from the slim jim, unknown mileage (see stolen cluster). If the guy had insurance it would be salvage title....but he didnt. Not to mention it has 98+ bumpers on it, which I highly doubt were put on for any other reason them some sort of wreck.

Anyway, if it's safety you're after, buy a new(er) Lexus/BMW/MB.

ok...so i understand everyone have their own opinions and views...but why are peple hating on the cl front end conversion? whats the difference from doing the cl front and jdm itr front???
your integ would have to be cut up to do the jdm itr right??? radiator support and all... i know the cl is not somthing new...i've seen back in the 90's and i like it...
and its something a little bit different...practically everybody and their grandma has a jdm itr conversion....

I'm guessing the same thing has a JDM front end conversion?.

Might be wrong.

actually, you dont need cutting if you do it the right way. you can buy the T-bar from password jdm that does not require you to cut anything at all.

anyways, why not just do a 98+ front end conversion... since 94-97 front end is different from 98-01. the later is better IMHO.
