what is the best brand of paint to paint engine blocks???
what are some of the engine paint brand you guys recommend? ones i've heard of are duplicolor found anywhere and vht. i plan to repaint my engine block silver again to give it a fresh look.
anything you can find in the paint isle at your local autozone that is for high temps will work just fine. Hell i use high temp flat black with ceramic on my windshield wipers lol. one thing i do recommend and i dont know if you can find any for high temp, is use an etching primer. It helps the paint adhere ALOT.
go to any paint supply place..By paint supply i mean for automotive and ask them for etch primer..should be ok on the temp but any high temp paint in autozone will work just do a couple coats. good luck

I did my block with some stuff I got at Tractor supply it has ceramic in it and is good to like 800 degress. Had to spray over bare clean metal, then backed at 300 for an hr. Now its hard as a rock and looks very nice. It also said regular driving would cure it as well.
I don't think I'd rattle can anything on my car, and deffinetly not a engine block. what are you gonna do when it starts flaking? just pull it out and touch it up. I would use a good steam cleaner, and if you have access to a sand or soda blaster I would skim blast it for a good profile, then go to a industrial paint supply store and see what they would recomend for the substrate and the conditions (heat, oils, ect.) but its not gonna matter what paint you use unless it's prepped correctly. I'd powder coat it personally, you have the heat and solvent resistance, and the chip resistance.
