Bashed JDM 4-1 manifold, How to fix?
How would you fix a bashed JDM 4-1 header. Lets just say the bottom 2 collectors have been reduced significantly. How would an exhaust shop fix this if at all possible?
i've read before one way was to have a ball on a rod of some type, heat the **** out of the dents, and try to push them out from the inside through the collector. make any sense?
rob- who would rather just buy a new header

If it has been bashed significantly enough to the point where it's impeding flow, I'd send it to SMSP and ask him to cut the damaged portion on and weld on a better collector.

when I hit a rock in the road with mine it actually dented it so bad the metal split, in that case I had to have the damaged portion cut out and have a new section welded in... not to expensive once it was all said and done (around 50 or so dollars) but it was just a major pain in the a$$. In your case it seems like a small hole and a slide hammer should do the trick.
For the future I would suggest getting a skidplate or some sort of protection for it. I got mine after the accident from fastline performance.
let us know how it all turns out!!

What's going to prevent the skidplate from being smashed into the header?

If you damaged your OEM JDM 4-1 or DC 4-1 at least it didn't drain your pocket like the Jay DEE MM (Spoon, Toda, etc..)

I banged up my Spoon header pretty good...wish that Fastline plate fit it, but apparently it's for 98+ JDM ITR headers only. Doh...
