Boost loss due to exhaust?
I had a few questions regarding losing boost pressure with small exhaust. When I initially got my car running at 4psi I was running an open 2.5" manrel bent downpipe for a day or two. The car ran strong and pulled to 4psi EXTREMELY fast and hard. Now I temporarily "Plugged" the 2.5DP into the Stock Type R exhaust. After that it only goes to 2psi and holds there. At that point I assumed (but couldn't believe) that the stock exaust was just too restrictive, so I added a vacuume T into the line coming off the WG to make sure it would still boost above 2psi w/ stock exhaust. With the T in there it went back up to 4.5-5psi, but it didn't pull as quickly or as strong.
So the main question is if it's possible to lose 2psi just from stock exhaust?
Is it OK to use the "T" trick to raise the boost back up with the stock exhaust connected?
BTW I'm running the Tial 35mm WG w/ what appears to be a 4psi spring(yellow)
Thanks for any info.

Yes, a smaller exhaust will restrict the the turbo. Let it breath dude!
