Default TypeR this Type R that, when will it stop?

I was on the can and I was reading the new Crutchfeild and I get to page 50 and thank god I was on the bowl allready cause I let a huge one go when I saw what was being advertised!

If you have the new catalog take a look on page 50, what I'm talking about is in the green square.
I'll see if I can get a scan of the page if a few minuets.

When will this Hype stop? I know its all about flattery but when is enough, enough?

It has already been on a downfall. The new trend? Type S this and Type S that.

I think the moniker "Type R" has become synonymous with anything "performance" related. Kind of like the acronym "GT". Hell even JAGUAR is using the name for one of their cars.

At least "Type R" makes some sense. R could stand for "race" or something (no rice comments please - it's been beaten to death already).

But yeah, Alpine has been selling the Type R line of speakers for a few years now.

[edit] So I was wrong. BFD. And just substitute Kia for Daewoo [/edit]

I thought Jag was using "X-Type" and that's it.

But yeah, Alpine has been selling the Type R line of speakers for a few years now. Only when Daewoo starts selling a "Type R y0" will the downfall begin
Check this thread out for the Jag TypeR https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=218569

yeah Type R is nothing new for Alpine, neither is V12, etc.

btw, the Type R stuff is top knotch, not some shitty crap with a fancy name. definately worthy of the R markings.

Yep. Honda is FAR from the first ones to use a "Spec R" moniker.
