This might be a kinda stupid questions but here it goes anyway

As some of you know I purchased a 2002 EP3 about a month ago I have been fixing stuff all the little stuff wrong with it each week.

I got around to the keyless entry this weekend I replaced both door lock actuators and bought a new remote I got the keyless working but I was wondering if the car was supposed to flash the lights or honk the horn when I push the lock button more than once is it supposed to??

Please let me know if your cars make noise or flash the lights there maybe something else I need to fix

 

not sure of the EP3 but my RSX doesn't do **** to my knowledge. Actually now that I think about it more if I push the lock button twice I believe it honks a little Honda Honk

 

ok im driving a ep3 02
when hit the lock button once the park light/ the little light on the top of headlight flash or blink and you can hear it locks too
and when i hit it twice it horns
its like a warning that your car is already locked
and same thing that goes with unlocking system and when you hit it twice it will unlock both doors and hatch but no horns

 

Something must be wrong I'll have to dig into it deeper every car I have ever had has flashed and beeped the horn

 

My car used to work like this...

1 press for lock = 1 flash of the lights
2 presses for lock = 1 flash and honk

1 press for unlock = 2 flashes and driver door unlocked only
2 presses for unlock = 2 flashes and all doors/hatch unlock

Now, my car will only do the honk lol. A year or so after I got it, it just stopped flashing when locking or unlocking. It pissed me off for the longest time but now I have given up on trying to figure it out haha. Please update us with what you find

 

Here are my findings after digging in the Honda Service system

Every EP3 manufactured just came with basic keyless entry that did not flash or honk the horn. Each dealership had the option to add on an accessory security system that added the honk and light flash option along with a small LED these have been know to go bad and the only way to fix it is to replace it.

Mine flashed and honked just like stated above, even before I put the security system in.

 

damn mine blew out yesterday
and i think its the motor on the driver side door and i forgot whats it called

do you know whats the part number for the motor?

mine still works the same but its just doesnt lock at all

still lights up and horns

and about your research about the system i think all usdm ep3 and dc5 works like that, its more like a standard system here in US

 

I'm not sure whats wrong with my car I unplugged the Security Module and the lights flash but the horn still does not honk weird.

I have the part number for the actuator at work I'm off till tuesday but I have them in stock and ready to ship if you need one and can wait a few days If I remember correctly it costs around 60 bucks
