Why is the 2003 S2000 the slowest produced:
From what I've heard and researched there were no signifigant improvements from 2002 to 2003, other than minor cosmetic ones. I have an '03 and my friend has an '01 and we're pretty even if not dead on the same.

Didn't they do some cosmetic changes as well as the rear window? I don't think internally anything changed.
Do any of you 2003's have any approximate curb weights?

Changes have been covered like 1,000,000 times before, so lets not go into that. Curb weight ~2800 as I recall.

From: TRILLINOIS....WAY downtown, jerky.
The magazine editor got more fat due to more minivan cupholder shoot out articles.
Driver variation, dude. Not to mention track or condition variation. No two runs are the same.
You should be able to run high 13s stock, though.

He launched at 4k and had to wait the extra second for the torque monster to get spooled up. Seriously, if you don't launch it at 6k and feather the clutch you're going to be in the 14s....maybe 15s to be dead honest. If I'm in 1st gear at 1500rpms and stomp it, I believe it takes around 15 seconds to get into 2nd.
^^^ agreed. i raced a s2k boltons to boltons. he launched it around 6k. i launched at 5ish (maybe lower) i wasnt ready... but it was a VERY BIG difference, cause i spun the tires, then it bogged really bad. the other guy, raped me.
I think my old 4 wheeler has a bigger diff....
Spinning the tires on a launch puts less strain on the drive train then bogging the car and having the tires catch. Hooking up when you dump the clutch im sure is a big jolt to the drive train
