B17?
As much as I love 2nd gen tegs, I have to say if I were you, I'd get the B18C, 3rd gen GSR motor/tranny. Easier to find and more power. Probably a lot easier to find aftermarket support for it too.
As this man stated, If you already have a transmission and your getting the B17 with the obd1 ecu then awesome.
But if you are looking for a full setup, The B17 from a DA ( only place you can get it from ) . Wont work the best/easiest for you.
Find a b18b or b18c from a 94 and up teg. ( 94 and 95 being ideal as they also have a obd1 ecu wich makes it plug and play)

My d16 sounds pretty mean already so i'm not worried about sound
as borat would say "Vary Naice!!"
all the b17 is, is a b16 stroked to a 1.7L. They have a Pr3 head which is the same head on the b16, you could take the pistons, rods, and crank and put them over in a b16 and wha la you would have a 1.7L. They are a rare motor, but honestly I wouldn't pay as much for one as they go for, they only have maybe 5 more ft/lbs of trq. and a B16a besides the obd0 one come with more horsepower. If you are wanting something cheap, then I would say go with a b16a, but if you can afford the B17a1 I would just get a b18c1 for a cheaper price or so. I hope this helps you OP.
Yep, although you can swap the guts out of a '92 - '93 cable tranny (this includes all DA GS-Rs) into a hydro case.
