Anyone ever do business with dave Hickman
Just as the topic states. I know he has established himself as a racer but has anyone ever delt with him about his products or bought stuff from him? Just need to get inout because im about to buy a turbo kit from him.

Tom.
Kit is used. Less then 500 miles. I have been talking to dave for about 6 months mostly about racing though. This is the first time business has been brought up.
I am paying 1600 + used skunk2 stage 1 cams and skunk2 cam gears.
T60-1 ball bearing with a turbonetics internal WG
Reworked Greddy manifold
3"downpipe
RC 550 Injtectors
FMIC with piping
Greddy Type S BOV
Pre tapped oil pan
All need fittings and hoses and clamps
FMU (im not gonna use it though)
Very insane price considering the kit. Thats why i am posting

His car was always waaay ghetto. He did have a 93 civic hb that was silver and had this ugly air damn in the front that looked like it restricted air rather then draw air into the intercooler. He also shaved off the back side windows of the car. Looked like a milk truck...lol. We used to call him Dave Hackman....I have seen the crap he puts in his motors. I saw one of his blocks that was supposed to be sleeved for a customer and all it had was stock sleeves with these stupis makeshift pins weled in the water jacket like a ghetto blockguard or something. So from going from that...its your call.
That pinning is not common and is not effective esp. if a guy is told he is getting iron ductile sleeves. We tried that years ago and proved it was no good. It actually was making the sleeves crack easier because of the uneven pressure on the sleeves.
i bought a blockgaurd from him a long time ago.i had to send him the money ahead of time and it took forever to get it.when i got it,it was very nice quality and never gave me any problems.
