Default 83 Accord LX losing power on hills

A friend just gave me an '83 Accord LX hatchback to fix up. It drives fine on the highway, but I have several large hills around my house. I could be going 70 mph when I hit the bottom of those hills and I'll be down to about 30 or 35 when I get to the top. Most of these hills are less than 1/10th of a mile long. Any ideas what could be causing it to do that? I've changed out the plugs already. I'm just getting some ideas so I can start planning out what else I should check and change.

Thanks!

I would check your ignition timing. If it's way off, you'll be losing a lot of power. Also has anybody done a headgasket or timing belt? They may have put the timing belt on wrong, because a lot of the EK1 cam gears have two sets of timing marks, and it can be very confusing which ones to use to set the cam timing.
