Did I blow my clutch?

If the clutch was toast why would the speedo go up?
If the clutch was toast, the clutch disc would be spinning against the flywheel, but not delivering any power to the input shaft. therefore, no speedo reading.
You all sound confident it's the clutch, but I don't see the logic behind it. Can someone break down for me why the transmission guts are moving (getting power from the motor through the clutch) but the car is not?
What he is describing is what would happen if the axles were both removed, but I can't see how a bad clutch could cause it.

Ahh I can solve your problem here. I had the same thing happen to me. The guy above is close. It has to do with your differencial. Now the worst thing here is that you have busted spider gears.
The 1st thing you want to check is your axles. Usually one of them will be popped out of the trans or the gears will be ate off the end. If both axles are ok then you need to check your diff. Hope this helps..let me know what you come up with and I will try to help ya.

ah you guys are right about the differential thing. I've seen this once where we changed out the clutch and the car still acted like clutch was gone. Happened to be a broken diff.
Then its your diff. You can look through your axle holes and look at the diff. Usually the diff pin will be broke or something. If everything looks fine then it looks like its time to take your tranny apart.
Yep..thats what caused it to happen to me...was passenger side. Your car just pulls with one will...soooo if one axle isnt in correctly it will pop out and the car will just sit there.
