My New Project!
Hey H T,
So I have away from Hondas for a long time. I was need of a daily driver as I broke the tranny in my Suby. One of my buddies was nice enough to sell me his 1999 Civic Dx Coupe (with only 120k on it) for a great deal. So I was going to just use it as a daily and not do anything to it, but as you can guess I got bit by the mod bug and now I have decided to turn it in to a long term project and I am going to use this thread to post my progress.
A little about my vehicle past and my previous modding experience. I have owned 2 Honda Accords (1990 ex sedan, 1995 ex sedan), 1995 BMW M3 coupe, 2005 Mini Cooper S, and now I have the Honda Civic and a 2005 Subaru Legacy Gt. Both Accords had mild suspension mods, basic engine boltons, and huge stereos lol. The BMW was almost stock except for a mild stereo DTM headlights and E46 M3 replica wheels. The Mini Cooper S had quite a bit of suspension work done, quite a bit of Engine mods, and a mild stereo. Now to my beloved Legacy, it is a well built Stage 2 (about 280 awhp depending on the weather, lol) Mild Stereo and Suspension. It is semi quick and really makes me smile every time I drive it. Then Tradegy struck the throw bearing seized then came apart and destroyed the Transmission case and clutch and flywheel, so now it sits in my buddies shop waiting for me scrounge up some money to fix it
. All the work and Modifications on all my previous cars have all been done by me with the Exception of the Underdrive Supercharger pulley on the Mini. I am pretty well versed in the modifcation culture in general but it has been a long time since I have modded a Honda. So any Reccommendations are very welcomed.
Plans -
Now that I am driving this car I remember how much fun it was to drive Hondas
. Handling and Braking is going to be the main focus of the car. I would also like some power, at least enough to get out of its own way or pull out into trafic lol. I want to keep full interior in it for comfort. Handling and Braking is going to be the main focus of the car. And over course overall appearance.
Okay what it already has on it.
Ground control coilovers
Skunk 2 Front Camber Kit
some cheap Axel back exhaust (not too loud luckily)
Aem Shortram Intake
Integra Center Console with Armrest
Si Seats
Faux Carbon Fiber Cluster Bezel (from CTR Maybe, not sure)
CTR grille paint matched
17" Shu 4 wheels
No radio
I will be poting up some pics as soon as I get a chance. Let me know what you guys think
