Default Anyone have experience with racing_guys catback?

I'm looking for an inexpensive catback for my crx and am wondering if anyone has heard of this catback, if you do a search on ebay for crx catback it is the very least expensive catback they sell. I sent a question to the seller asking if it is 2.5" tubing but have not heard back yet. My car doesn't sound good as it is and I'd like a little deeper less ricey.

Also I have an edelbrock manifold and a gt2554r I'll be installing soon. I was planning on purchasing the tenrai catback system because I heard it sounds good and the youtube clips sounded pretty good to me. I'm concerned that the 2.25" piping may be a bottleneck for my turbo, but it is a smaller turbo so I'm not sure.

its definitely an eBay brand. and chances are that its going to be just as rasspy or high pitched as what you have now. but you never know. if anything get it for the tubing and remove the canister and replace with your own muffler. thats what i would do. but like i said you never know till you try. why are you looking at the cheapest one? on a budget? and what is on your car right now.

heres the link to the exhaust for everyone else.

i took a second look at it. and i myself wouldn't mind trying it out, worst case scenario it sounds like caca and you put a different muffler on it.

I SAY GO FOR IT.

What is your current exhaust setup?
If it sounds ricey, I bet it doesn't have a cat or a long resonator. By looking at those pictures, it seems that with that short resonator, it would be pretty loud and will get raspy at around 3000 rpms. If you use it with no cat, it will sound raspy all the time especially when you get on it.

If you are serious about going f/i , just know the turbo acts as a muffler, so worry mostly on piping size and a good quality muffler. Unlike N/A, a good long resonator isnt really needed for a clean sound on turbo applications.

i have the same setup cept mine is a Tsudo 2.25 piping and a high flow cat and a resonator. sounds really good. I want to look into a silencer to see if i can get that OEM silence again tho. Its really not that loud at all. you hear my engine more than the muffler. My muffler hangs pretty low tho, and i had to hack a hanger off cause it was rattling against my floor board.

My crx came with a pretty crappy system. The muffler looks like a stock muffler, even though its custom the piping is really thin, guessing 2 or less inches and I'm pretty sure its not mandrel bent piping.

I wish the seller would answer my question about it being 2.5" or not, I really like the tenrai exhaust on ebay but would rather not have 2.25".

Thanks for the responses, after income tax comes in I should be able to install the turbo. Does anyone know how much of a bottleneck 2.25" piping would be on a gt2554r turbo? Also any other exhaust in the less than 200 dollar range worth checking out? May spend more but would rather not.

ive got the Tenrai catback. I like it a lot. At idle its quiet. And you have the baffle that can be removed.
I cant remember what size it is though.
the fitment was dead on. But with the factory tired engine mounts, it seemed to shift to the point where it rattled aganst the left rear sway bar mount.
it comes all stainless even the bolts/nuts.

On the listings, the tenrai as well as the tsudo are said the be 2.25". That's what I've heard as well about the tenrai quality and fitment, dead on.

There is a catback sold by d5 concepts that is 71.99 + 60 shipping, it claims to be 2.5" piping. Only $4 more than the racing guys catback, the muffler looks smaller though.

My concern also is that even if they say 2.5", some people have claimed the product didn't meet the description. I'm guessing it either wasn't 2.5" or was less than 2.5" at bends and other places. If that's the case I might as well get the tenrai that I know sounds good and is good quality, but its 2.25".

Also whatever I get I plan on removing the silencer as it looks to be around 1" opening which seems like it'd be a huge bottleneck. I don't see the point of getting 2.5" piping and having the last part 1", maybe I'm missing something.

I measured the exhaust outlet I have now and it's 1.75", anything will be a huge improvement, but I will be going turbo soon with my gt2554r turbo.

Well, I decided to go with the one sold by d5 concepts. Came in the mail today, the piping is not quite 2.5" but is close. It's circumference is 7.5" all the way through. I will be installing it in the next couple of days and will post some pics of it. I really hope it at least sounds better than what I have.

Haven't been on in a while, the d5_concepts catback fit like crap. Nothing lined up, to make matters worse, the previous owner of my crx had welded their catback to the cat. So I had to take it to a muffler shop.

I just purchased this catback for my 91 Hatch because I was in the same boat bought the car didn't have an exhaust on it and needed something cheap.

I have the midpiping on the cat but am adding piping to make it work with mine. I will get video up in a few days when I get it finished.

Here is a pic:
