surging idle...yes i searched..my question is a little different...
hey guys, ive got a 1995 ex with a 5 speed...when i first got the car, it did the surging idle thing (when warmed up, with your foot on the clutch, it revs to 1700 then drops back to 1200 repeatedly...)..i did the recommended cleaning of the fitv and the iacv, as well as tightened the screw in the one on the bottom of the throttle body (i cant remember which one it is..) i then replaced the one on the back of the intake manifold with a new one from honda, which solved the idle surge for about two months...today, i had the car running with the heat on for about 20 minutes, and when i got in it to drive away, it started again...i took off the intake and put my finger over the lower hole in the throttle body: no change...i then plugged the upper hole and the surging stopped, and the idle returned to normal...all coolant levels are good, and the car has no check engine lights...any idea what to look for now? the fact that the valve on the back of the intake manifold is new is throwing me off...any help would be appreciated, and sorry for the super-long post...
nevermind the complicated answers...i found a vaccuum hose disconnected just enough to cause my problem...mods, you can delete this post....
