i would be running a sealed box if i were to get the 2 10'' kicker cvrs because i already have the box but if i get the 1 12'' alpine type r, i plan on pickin up a ported box. a rockford fosgate 1000a2 amp will be powering these subs. what would you guys prefer? thanks in advance.
I would go with the two 10", the vented box for a 12" Type R is 1.7cuft internal volume and the sealed box for two 10" CompVRs is 1.6cuft internal, [min.] so the amount of room used up will be about the same, and the two 10" will move more air, have a tighter more accurate sub bass, although it will be easier to get a lower F3 point with the 12" in a vented box. 94

Actually they sound pretty good although the optimum sealed SQ box would be 6cuft, kind of big.
For SPL your looking at 3.5cuft net, slot port box, too boomy for me.
Also, the OP has the seald box, and my guess is, it is bigger then 1.6cuft but smaller then 6cuft. 94

i've decided to go with 2 10'' type rs instead. i have read too much about kickers being loud and not the best sub as far as sound quality. at least thats what i read about cvrs.
Trending Topics
ppl tel me that the type r speakers aren't as good as kickers or rockford fosgates, even the ppl that install systems all day run away from them
people pick cvr's over type r's? wtf haha... i'd go type r over cvrs any day. good choice. throw out the prefab and get a ported tuned enclosure...
u will need an extra motor to pull n power those lol the mags r huge
on a personel note i dont see the hype about type r speaker when i checked them out at a local sound store they weren't impressive like the kickers or pioneers but thats just me it seems u either need a bigger box or special box i guess 4 them 2 perform but i do like how they look
