hatch side moldings on a coupe? *pic*
Anyone know if civic hatch side moldings are the exact same size as the coupe? I have 1 final exterior mod left to do to my car, and that is to drop in the oem ctr flat side moldings. Is the total length the same? Should all the plugs in the back match up with my 99 coupe? Here's the ctr moldings:
i tried to email jdmhondaparts, but the sales rep didn't know if it fit the coupes. however, i was told that the molding fit on the coupe, but i cannot verify that for sure. when you do find out, let us know.
that's probably the last thing i would get on my car...those do look good though.
I actually already told the body shop to shave my side moldings, but they said I will not be happy with the final results. They must not have enough experience shaving sides so then I heard that, it scared me since that is not something that is easily irresversible. That is the reason why I backed out. I have shaved everything on my car except side moldings when I recently got my car repainted a month ago.
Now since the side moldings weren't shaved, to get that "cleaner" look with what I'm left with now, something where I'm sure I will be the only one that will notice and no one else on the road, I want these ctr moldings. Trust me, I'm all about the clean look. There are things on my car that would be considered anti-JDM, but because they made the car "cleaner", I did it that way For instance, I passed up on a cf hood, but instead chose to shave my washer nozzles and repaint the oem hood, why because to me it looks cleaner. That is going against JDM. I love JDM, but I'm not bounded by it.
Civicboy, I will grab my tape measure and be back in a bit.

Civicboy, I just got the measurements, here they are:
front fender: 5 and 2/16" (+/- 1/16")
door: 50 and 1/2" (+/- 1/16")
rear panel: 17 and 1/2" (+/- 1/16")
Do these match up to your hatch? Thanks man

I've actually thought about doing that also to my coupe, so i measured it awhile ago with the 99-00 hatch i found on my block. The length at the points from the edge of the door to the rear wheel (the molding where the VTEC decal is located below it) is the same length as the hatch. The ones for the door and the wheel fenders should fit since they are essentially the same. But yeah, i hope that helps a little.
Are you in a bad mood or something? How about this.... "Japanese styling"
