NEED HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!fuel gauge stays on full.....
I have a problem with my 98 civic ex. the fuel gayge stays on full all the time and my speedometer dosent go pass 20 miles the fuel gauge goes down only when i start the car up in the morning but as soon as i start the car and wait about 30 second it goes back up again to full. i change the cluster,the fuel flote and its still doing it . can anybody tell me if they had this problem and how to fix it. thanks

you either have a ground problem or its picking up positive power from somewhere via a short or something is wired into it that shouldn't be
Follow the Helms manual for troubleshooting. You'll need a multimeter.
Were you doing anything recently with the cluster or wiring that we should know about to help diagnose?

well the alternator fuse kept blowing up i would put a new in and it would do it again. so i took the harness of the motor and check it and there was nothing wrong with it so i put it back and as i was under the car while i had it on the lift i notice that the O2 sensor one of the wires was cut up by the heat shield. so every time that i wood turn the car on after i would put in a new fuse it would blow it. so i tape it up and the problem was over with but now that i put the harness back on the motor the fuel gauge stays on full and the speedometer stays shaking up and down on the 20 miles mark. so thats where im at.
