92 Honda Civic LX Hessitation
92 Honda Civic LX Hissitation:
I have a 92 honda civic LX (stock internals) and upgraded the fuel system(AEM fuel rail/310cc injectors/high flow fuel filter/B&M fuel pressure regulator)(MSD Blaster SS coil/MSD ignition/MDS OE Cap & rotor)(Skunk2 intake manifold)(MeganRacing headers/downpipe/catdelete)(magnaflow catback) so you see i have upgraded the air intake system,Exhaust output,Ignition spark and Fuel delivery. my problem is that i just recently put on the AEM high flow fuel rail, now the car stubles on acceleration. This matter persists throughout the entire rpm range aswell as idle.however i have found that when i put the car under extreme load(Wide open throttle)The hessitation seems to go away. Im thinking that the fuel pressure is unsufficient under load, what is your thaught?
The ECU was not reflashed, its a stock P06. I am picking up a Greddy E-manage Unit in a few weeks. I do however have a narrowband Air/Fuel gauge and am running a little rich. However the problem only just showed when i installed the AEM fuel rail. I have also went through several spark plugs checking the igniton system and can definatly rule that out! The injectors are RC racing 310cc / Factory are 235CC.I am setting this type of engine up for a turbo. I will only be running 5-6 psi of boost! Also going to be installing a walbro 255lph hp fuel pump to increase fuel pressure. i do have an adjustable fuel pressure regulator, when the pressure was turned down the hessitations got worse and even effected start up. when it was turned up it got a little better but not good enough i have the regulator(cheap B&M unit)set for maximum pressure but it doesnt seem to be enough.I do have a Glowshift fuel pressure gauge(needs install completed)so i can adjust for correct fuel pressure. Does anyone know what factory fuel pressure is set at for D Series motors? If you need more info i can provide it.I have completely built this engine on my own, just need some help with troubleshooting.Being as this is an OBD1, I do not know how to pull engine codes(if any) and as i do not have an engine light on, i dont think there are any codes to pull.

Problem fixed! i found that the B & M fuel regulator is junk! replaced it with an AEM fuel pressure regulator and now the car runs smoother than ever! no hessitation no problems! Almost forgot to add the fact that i installed the fuel pressure gauge and set it to 47 psi.
