Default Auto Trans | CEL fixed overnight? Weird...

Hello, I have an 05 Civic EX SE (Little over 98K miles). Long story short, 8:30pm, raining/sprinkling, had to go get a statistic book from my cousin's house (3 mile away), Driving home, I had the right away and I guess the other driver was in a rush and just tried to beat it before me. I slammed on the brakes to which the ABS didn't activate. Thinking "WTF STUPID *** BITCH!" *Flicks off.

Next thing you know my CEL was on, thinking "WTF?", then I drive off a little and heard a loud rummming like my transmission wasn't going into gear. I throw the car in neutral while cruising because I was almost home and notice it didn't even go into gear. I stopped on a stop sign and it was like my D was going into D3 (basiclly down shifting), instead of the sensor saying "GO TO NEUTRAL YOU ARE DOING A COMPLETE STOP", I drive off a little more (Still in D/D4) and it's as my first gear didn't change to 2ed until it felt like it (Didn't change until I was going 25+ MPH). Thinking I'm completely ****ed up, I go home, pop the hood, nothing was leaking and the outside of the motor was running fine. I park the car, throw on the E brake incase and did my homework . I finished in less than 10 mins and had to go pick up my girl. Now this time the transmission was running fine, still I was like "TF?". Picked her up yadadad. Next morning, I notice the CEL was gone? I was hella trippin' for the whole school day. Now it's running fine. What a relief.

For you guys to answer/help me out a bit.

1. Do you guys think I should check out the engine/transmission?
2. Do you guys think it was the ECU?
3. Should I check/replace the ecu?
4. Check my brakes?

And thanks. Sorry for the long story haha. Just had to make it clear.

But the CEL is gone, do you recommend me still going for a check up?

I don't want to look like a dumbass and let them charge me for nothing.

"You don't have a CEL", but it appeared and went away "Theirs you solution"

For the update.

I must say, Autozone doesn't do check up anymore and found out my cousin had his own scanner so I took it to him.

It was 4 codes but turned out to only be 2. Which were misfires from cylinder 1 and 3.

We are going to check to see if the TPS to see if it's loose. If that's not the problem, we are going to check the coils.

Yeah, called up 3 local autozones and they said they don't do it anymore.
