Icon2 Suspension upgrade help: EH1

My 95 vx hatch has Gc coilovers (380f & 250r) paired with Tokico illuminas. All new suspension bushings. I have Integra lca's and swaybars front to back. Tires are 195/50/15 toyo proxes.

I want to have a sporty civic. I really enjoyed the spring upgrade to Gc's it helped the car rotate. The front end doesnt grip consistently throughout the steering lock; it seems to loose grip somewhere in the corner. I was hoping to reduce this with fender braces and a 3pt tower bar, but perhaps upgraded sway bars would first. Please advise me.

What is the next logical suspension upgrade?

I'm sure the suspension guru's here will have some advice for you, but if performance is what you're after a tire upgrade might be a good place to start.

Sounds like you're describing mid-corner understeer, which is something all FWD cars have to deal with on different levels.

Neither of those will help with understeer.

Those spring rates aren't going to produce a car that doesn't have understeer. No where near enough rear spring rate...

Tires that don't suck.

I have a set of Proxes 4s (you don't specify which Proxes), and other than being decent in the wet, they're terrible tires from a performance standpoint. Now, if they're Proxes R1Rs, then its time for a nice upgraded rear ARB.

So tires and rims is the next move. I was thinking of upgrading to 16", since i have 15" right now. Can I get some recomendations on tires that dont suck from a performance standpoint?

It is my opinion that 15" wheels are fastest, but I'm curious to see what people with more experience say. As for tires, do you want absolute max performance, or do you want tires that will last more than 10-15k or be acceptable in the rain. For a long-ish lasting pair of summer tires that will see mostly dry pavement, I got Yokohama S.drive

Im looking for a step up performance wise from toyo proxes 4. Most driving I do will be dry roads. Wet performance is important to me for braking since my vx is light. I would very much like it if i could get 10- 15k from performance tires. Price is a factor, I would have difficulty justifying anything over 5-600 dollar range for a set. I'll look into s. drives.

Any other sugestions?

Increase rear spring rate by say 50-80lbs/in

Fuzion Zri

If more money for more performance (and less lifespan) is acceptable:
Bridgestone Potenza RE-11
Toyo Proxes R1R
Dunlap Direzza Sport Z1 Star Spec
Kumho Ecsta XS

There's a lot of info on these in the Wheels and Tires forum.
