Motor Has Trouble Starting - Then Chugs
Hey guys I recently finished swapping my 96 jdm B18C5 in to my current hatch. It ran fine in the last car but sat for six months before the current build.
The last install the car started right up with remote start even. Now it turns over for a little while then eventually starts but fluctuates and chugs. I have to gas it to help it stay on and once it warms up it will run - idle a little high though around 1500rpm.
From what I have read is it possible it is the distributor? I have already checked fuel and spark - even replaced the fuel filter thinking maybe it was clogged. Also replaced the cap and rotor already.
I think I am gonna pull the ICM and get it checked.
Does this sound correct?

Any check engine lights?
You might have better luck in the Hybrid forum, since most of the cars in this forum haven't had to swap in their B18C's.

My car went through the same issue. I had replaced the cap, rotor, ignitor, and coil about a year ago. Check to make sure you have spark. My problem was the main relay. Got a new one from acura and the aRGhhhh starts up fine now.
