Hey All,

Can anyone give me an idea for how much clean EG's are going for nowadays? It's been a while since I have been in the Honda scene, but I remember a few years back they were a wanted car for swaps, track cars or just daily drivers.

If I were to fix the steering rack issue and get fresh tires on the car, what would be a fair asking price for the car? And please don't respond saying $300 just because you think I am gullible enough to fall for it and sell it to you for that cheap!

Let me know,

Wow, that is much better than I thought. I was thinking around $2k. But obviously, like you said, it depends on how clean it is, among other things.

Thanks!

kbb.com price without a/c:

Condition Value

Excellent
$1,460

Good
$1,185

Fair
$835

Thats just a rough price. It depends on other things like interior/exterior condition (paint/dents/dings/scratches/chips/rips/ect.).

And remember it needs repairs too...About $300-600 depending on doing it yourself or paying a mechanic.

BS. i never go by kbb, i've bought and sold over 30 hondas.
if the car actually looks anything like in the pic, he can get WAY more then ****en 1400.
if u find one that clean for 1400, let me know, i'll take two of them tomorrow lol.

just fix it and it should sell for a pretty penny

Hey would probably get more if the car had the rack and pinion fixed and new/ good used tires. Then I got a real good deal on my 94 Si...About $2,000 stock.

in the current condition.. maybe $1,000 tops... it still needs to get towed and repaired..

I'm assuming 13" tires, which IMHO is JUNK!

and let's assume this is a CLEAN TITLE with no frame damage or theft.

200k is alot of miles... I bought my last hatch shell for $300 Clean title and it was a CX on tokico Ground Controls + new Alarm & 2.5" piping cat back

I am most likely going to fix the steering rack myself and either keep it or look to trade it. The only reason I would rather not sell it is because I think I would end up spending the money on something other than a replacement car, which kind of defeats the purpose of what I am trying to do.

I found a steering rack from The Import Center in Hayward for $90. The tires are VERY shot, but I am not worried about that part. I am already on the look out for some inexpensive replacement wheels/tires. Perhaps some Si wheels or LS meshies, not sure yet. Worn tires are the least of my concern and should not be of much concern to a buyer IMO.

For those questioning the car like the above poster who said $1k tops, I think you aren't being being very realistic. If the fact that it has to be towed drops the value by about $1k, then something is very wrong. People who desire these cars are not concerned about the fact that it has STOCK wheels either. They are paying for the chassis and paying for the potential it has. Personally, the fact that it is 100% stock tells me that it has not had a history of being abused.

Oh and the title is clean, no accidents. I am the second owner in it's history. The previous owner was my sister-in-law who received it as a graduation gift and drove it daily up until I bought it in 2007.

Thanks again for all the input everyone.

In all honesty, the sale price is somewhat irrelevant because I think I am going to either fix the car and keep it or trade it to someone who wants an EG and has something I would want in trade.

The question I should be asking is, what would be a fair trade?

I am looking for are an 88-91 CRX/Civic Si 5 Speed, 90-93 Integra 5 Speed or a 91-94 Nissan SE-R or NX2000, 5 Speed.

Am I asking for too much in trade or are those all fair trades? I would also be interested in just about any b16a or b18c swapped Civic/CRX/Integra.

Hey All,

There is a certain CRX online that I really want to buy, but in order to do so, I will need to sell this EG. So, for all those who have messaged me about selling it, make me an offer and we can go from there. And please, do not waste my time with obvious lowball offers...

The car will be sold in 100% working order, with the steering rack fixed. It passes smog with flying colors.

The big issue here is that there is an *** for every seat and what one thinks their car is worth to them is another.
KBB is a legit source to gauge.. note i say gauge your vehicles value.
I have seen my fair share of junk and this car isn't so bad at all.
Yes the mileage is high, and there are some things that need to be done.
But 3500 is way more than anyone should pay for this.
Jason your doing the right thing in correcting the deficiencies.
That alone will net you a few more benjamins in the long haul, and fetch you a fair price.
Good Luck Jason I hope you get your CRX.

Just a short rant.
Im sooo sick of monkeys selling their car and listing every possible thing they ever added to it and list a price... that includes the air freshener.
Something like this.

Clutch 200
shifter **** 50
etc etc etc..
You all get the idea.

Dont think because you put some money in a car that you will recoup the cost.
Pick a price and make it fair.
Just because you have a carbon fiber duckwing and some rota wheels that your stock D15 is worth 5K.
Just my .02

In all fairness, I think you picked the wrong thread for your rant. No where in my post did I say anything about getting $3500, so I am not sure where that came from.

Also, I sure hope you are not referring to me in any way when you say youre sick of monkey's selling their car, etc, etc, etc.

I've been more than clear in the fact that I am not sure what to sell my car for. This was the main reason for me initially wanting to trade it. With a trade, the selling price is not a factor. If anything, it should be clear to everyone that I am not expecting a ton of money for the car if I am willing to trade for a Honda that is 4-5 years older than mine.

Somewhere along the line, someone or something struck a nerve with you, but please do me and us a favor and save your 2 cents for the proper time. This not being one of those times...

Thanks!
-Jason
